ATHELTIC ACHIEVERS PROGRAM
The AAP focuses on engaging and supporting athletes in their academic success. The primary objective is to encourage and support youth to use athletics in conjunction with academics to reach their full potential and in turn complete high school and enter post-secondary studies.
-
Academic supports – after-school tutorial/homework program on-site and off-site by trained educational professionals, to help with study techniques needed to succeed academically
-
Life skills Coaching – developing fundamental life skills in addition to academics promotes independence and ultimately leads to success. Life skills workshops provide an opportunity for youth to connect with peers and mentors in a safe and productive environment.
-
Career cruising/counselling – to help clients identify their strengths (both academically and professionally) and motivate them to explore avenues that best suit their abilities.
-
Supportive and therapeutic counselling – to discuss and facilitate work on personal life issues, goals and barriers. Through risk/needs assessment, effective supports and interventions will be tailored specifically to clients’ needs and profile.
